The Indiana School Health Network held their third school health conference on July 13 and 14, 2011, kicking it off with keynote speakers: Elizabeth Haller from the CDC, Josh Rovner from the National Assembly of School-Based Health Centers, John DiCecco from the Los Angeles Children’s Trust and David Roos from Covering Kids & Families of Indiana. Speakers shared their insights on the federal, state and regional issues that impact schools and school health services during the current economic downturn.
Approximately 150 attendees came together in Indianapolis to network and learn more about school health initiatives across the country and how to access the resources available for school-based clinics and coordinated school health services. National, regional and local speakers and exhibitors shared valuable information on how to support these efforts in an era of shrinking resources. The conference ended with national speakers sharing their success stories for Indiana to use as examples of forming a successful statewide coalition for the development of the Indiana School Health Network.
